The Fondazione Informatica per la Promozione della Persona Disabile(FIPPD) has been founded to promove the research and the providing of auxiliary means to young and adults with disabilities.

The FIPPD is a foundation as in the swiss civil law code, article 80 and followings, with an ideal purpose, non-profit, it's recognised as exempt from taxes and it's subordinate to the vigilance of the Canton Ticino authorities.

The administrative seat is in Lugano (Via Galli 2).

The CID (Centro Informatica Disabilità) direction's seat is in Cadro (CH 6965 cp, Cadro).

The multidisciplinary CID team, formed by pedagogists and ortopedagogists which are knowledgeable and sensible, among others, to the influence of the theories on the modern constructivist pedagogical school by psychologist Jean Piaget, the research by Seymour Papert and the constructionism, and by engineers from the Swiss Federal Institute of technology Zurich (ETHZ), as well as students, parents and adults with disabilities, works on software and hardware research projects.
